ASRock announces their new PG32UMF 4K UHD 144hz MiniLED gaming monitor

ASRock has unveiled their upcoming PG32UMF monitor at Computex this week, in addition to their massive 55″ gaming display. The ASRock PG32UMF is a more practical monitor size, measuring 31.5″, and boasts a 3840 x 2160 "4K" resolution, a refresh rate of 144Hz, and an impressive 1152-zone Mini LED backlight. Despite being marketed as a gaming monitor, it also promises to deliver excellent performance for HDR content consumption.

Featuring a flat format and 16:9 aspect ratio, the screen is built on an IPS-type panel with a 3840 x 2160 "4K" resolution. It offers a typical brightness of 600 nits and an HDR peak brightness exceeding 1400 nits. The monitor is expected to receive certification under the VESA DisplayHDR 1400 scheme. It supports a wide color gamut with 97% DCI-P3 coverage and 10-bit color depth, making HDR content vibrant and lifelike. The high-end 1152-zone Mini LED backlight enhances the HDR capabilities, ensuring excellent local dimming.

For gaming enthusiasts, the monitor also boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and supports adaptive-sync for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) from both AMD and NVIDIA systems. It is anticipated to be certified under the AMD 'FreeSync Premium' scheme. Additionally, a 1ms MPRT spec is mentioned, hinting at the possibility of a strobing blur reduction backlight mode or a manufacturer's ambitious claim.

The connectivity options are well-equipped with DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1 (specific capabilities not disclosed), and USB Type-C with DP Alt mode and 90W power delivery. Furthermore, the monitor will include four USB data ports for added convenience.

As of now, certain details such as pricing, release dates, and other specifications are yet to be confirmed. Further updates will be provided once more information becomes available.
