ASUS presents new OLED Gaming Monitor, the ROG Strix XG27AQDMG will launch next week in the US

The XG27AQDMG sports a 27" (technically 26.5") flat panel display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. It boasts a 0.03ms G2G response time, a contrast ratio of 1.5 million:1, 178°/178° viewing angles, 10-bit color depth, and a wide color gamut that covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space. Additionally, this screen includes ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) technology, which operates at a 120Hz refresh rate—half the panel's native refresh rate—using a black frame insertion (BFI) method.

Like other Asus OLED monitors, the XG27AQDMG features a custom heatsink, eliminating the need for active cooling fans. It comes with a comprehensive set of OLED care features and is backed by a 3-year warranty that includes burn-in coverage. The stand has a compact design with a small footprint and supports tilt, height, swivel, and rotate adjustments. For connectivity, it includes 1x DisplayPort 1.4 (with DSC), 2x HDMI 2.0, and 2x USB data ports. There is also a headphone jack. The screen is certified under the VESA 'DisplayHDR 400 True Black' tier and uses a panel from LG Display's latest generation, which should achieve a peak brightness of over 1000 nits in HDR. LG Display advertises these panels as reaching 1300 nits for peak white luminance in HDR.

The screen has a 240Hz refresh rate and supports adaptive-sync for VRR-compatible systems. It is certified under NVIDIA 'G-Sync Compatible,' AMD 'FreeSync Premium,' and VESA 'AdaptiveSync 240' standards.

Interestingly, Asus states that the screen will include "ROG-exclusive OLED Anti-flicker technology," which helps reduce flicker during refresh-rate fluctuations. This feature, recently introduced via a firmware update, aims to mitigate potential VRR flicker on these panels. The screen is expected to have settings for strong, middle, and off for this anti-flicker option. The ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMG will launch at the end of this month.
