BenQ officially announced the new Mobiuz EX381U 4K 144hz gaming monitor

BenQ has just announced a brand new EX381U monitor, featuring a large 37.5″ screen with a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Designed with console gamers in mind, the monitor is built on a Fast-IPS panel, offering an expansive display that enhances immersion and is more suitable for distant viewing compared to smaller 27–32″ 4K monitors typically used for gaming.

In terms of specifications, the EX381U uses Fast-IPS technology and delivers a 3840 x 2160 “4K” resolution with a 1ms G2G response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 350 nits brightness in SDR mode, peaking at 600 nits for HDR content. It supports 178/178 viewing angles, features an 8-bit color depth, and covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The monitor also includes a 144Hz refresh rate, supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rate (VRR) compatibility, and is certified under AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro. Additionally, it offers a motion blur reduction mode.

On the features side, the EX381U includes eARC sound support, which is still relatively uncommon in monitors, allowing for up to 7.1 channel audio and the use of the built-in DAC with headphones. A KVM switch function is also available. The stand provides tilt, height, and swivel adjustments. For connectivity, the monitor includes 1x DisplayPort 1.4, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports (with unspecified capabilities), 1x USB Type-C port (with DP Alt mode, data transfer, and 90W power delivery), as well as 3x USB-A and 1x USB-C data ports.
