Acer announces their first 540hz 1080p Full HD Nitro gaming monitor

Acer has listed a new gaming monitor on Taobao and it is one that's capable of Full HD gaming at 540hz refresh rates. If you're a competitive gamer and your PC is capable of very high refresh rates at 1080p resolution, then this Acer Nitro XV242F gaming monitor might interest you.

The Acer Nitro XV242F boasts a 24.1-inch screen built with a TN Film panel, delivering an impressive 540Hz refresh rate. This monitor serves as Acer's answer to the previously announced Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP, which we had the opportunity to witness in action at Gamescom last month. The Nitro XV242F is purposefully designed for competitive and esports gaming, prioritizing exceptional frame rates and motion clarity.

Featuring a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution TN Film panel from AU Optronics, this 24-inch monitor offers a rapid 1ms G2G response time, a standard 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m2 brightness, wide 178/178 viewing angles, and a 10-bit color depth. It covers the sRGB color gamut at 99% accuracy.

The standout feature is its remarkable 540Hz refresh rate, seamlessly supported by adaptive-sync technology for Variable Refresh Rates (VRR) on compatible NVIDIA and AMD systems. It is anticipated to earn certifications under the NVIDIA 'G-sync Compatible' program. The VRR operation boasts a refresh rate range of 48–540Hz, including Low Framerate Compensation (LFC).

The use of a TN Film panel promises exceptional response times, ideal for meeting the demands of high frame rate gaming. Although there's no mention of a blur reduction mode, it remains a possibility. Notably, it won't carry NVIDIA ULMB 2 certification, as this requires a Native G-sync hardware module, which this screen doesn't employ, in contrast to Asus' competing model. Nevertheless, this contributes to a more budget-friendly retail price.

The Nitro XV242F's stand offers extensive adjustability, including tilt, height, swivel, and rotate options. For connectivity, it provides 1x DisplayPort 1.4 and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, along with an audio output. Additionally, the monitor incorporates basic 2x 2W integrated speakers. While it's currently listed on the Chinese retailer Taobao for approximately $700 USD, pricing and availability in other regions remain uncertain. Nevertheless, it's expected to be competitively priced compared to the Asus model. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.
