Philips presents new 1440p QD-OLED 360hz 27-inch gaming monitor.

Philips has officially presented a brand new gaming monitor with 360hz VRR capabilities. I'm glad that almost all companies are going towards QD-OLED panels, as with these products we will finally get great picture and color accuracy with almost no need for tinkering with various settings. Check below to learn more about such Philips product.

This monitor stands out with its 2560 x 1440 resolution and an impressive 360Hz refresh rate. The Evnia 8000 series features a distinctive white design and top-tier features, including Philips' exclusive 'Ambiglow' lighting system, which synchronizes with on-screen content for a more immersive experience.

The monitor itself measures 26.5" and has a flat design. It uses a third-generation QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display, offering a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a lightning-fast 0.03ms G2G response time, a 1.5 million:1 contrast ratio, and 250 nits brightness (SDR, 100% APL). With 178/178 viewing angles, 10-bit color depth, and a wide color gamut covering 98.5% of the DCI-P3 spectrum, this screen comes factory-calibrated with a dE <2 and includes a Smart Uniformity mode.

The panel's 360Hz refresh rate is supported by adaptive-sync for variable refresh rates on compatible systems. Additionally, it offers a peak brightness of 1000 nits for HDR content, meeting the VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification. For connectivity, the monitor includes 1x DisplayPort, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports, 2x USB data ports, and a headphone jack. It also features 2x 5W integrated speakers with DTS sound and is covered by a 3-year warranty that includes burn-in protection.

A new feature in the Philips Evnia 27M2N8500 is Dynamic Lighting, allowing Windows 11 users to synchronize RGB lighting across connected monitors and accessories, creating a unified, colorful ecosystem.

Ambiglow technology further enhances the viewing experience by casting a halo of light around the monitor. Its fast processor continuously adjusts the color and brightness of this light to match the on-screen content, making it ideal for movies, sports, or gaming. For added comfort, the monitor’s height-adjustable stand offers ergonomic adjustments, including tilt and swivel options. Additionally, LowBlue mode and Flicker-Free technology help reduce the potential negative effects of blue light and screen flicker. The monitor will be released next month and it will be available for a little under 800 euros. It should also be available in North America later this year.
